So I haven't updated in awhile and life has actually been incredibly busy.  So time for an update.

I'm finishing up the final details of project PhD application.  Hopefully tomorrow my part will be completed and I'll only be waiting on one letter of reference to arrive by the 22nd.

In other news, Grandma had a stroke on New Years Eve.  That has taken a lot of my time and thoughts.  This week she will probably be going to a nursing home...I never thought I'd live to see the day and frankly wish that God had just taken her home...she would hate this if she could stand outside of the situation and make a choice, she'd choose to go home.

I also got a digital camera, Kevin bought it for me.  He spoils me just a bit....

I also went to a wedding last weekend, a friend of Kevin's.  Bleh.  Not a fan of weddings...Something about LCC and well...yeah LCC.

I also don't really care for the weather people...they freaked out about ice all weekend..so I stayed in Champaign and so far no ice...I was going to go to Peoria today to see Grandma and they are saying ice still...grr...the time I don't listen will be when it actually is icy.

Other than that...nothing new.

An update :  A rare occasion that hasn't happened lately.

Yesterday marked my last day of my current job and Monday marks my first day of my new job as a real social worker.  It's a job using my degree, it's a job that will allow me to get licensure and it's a job that allows me to stay in town. 

I'm hopeful that I'll enjoy the job, love my boss, and smile a lot more and maybe even have the computer access to update a lot more.  :)

Other than that...things are good... 

So I could write about my job interview...but I'll let the same suspense I'm in be the same suspense that will captivate you. 

So my birthday -- yesterday...well it was a good day...I left that morning and oddly enough followed a car to work that had "Happy B-day" on the back windshield.  After work Kevin picked me up, on our way to Red Lobster we took the scenic route, which brought us to his apt.  He told me to come in, and I jokingly told him that I didn't want Ragu for my supper.  He took me to his room where he had roses for me.  Then we took off, got to Red Lobster and Kevin remembered that he forgot his wallet...so back to the apt.  Then finally dinner and a stop to pick up flowers and back to my apt, to hang with one another. 

So here it is, my boyfriend may not be incredibly romantic, he may not sweep me off my feet, he may be excessively practical at times...but none the less...he's the first guy whose ever bought me flowers...no joke and I've had long relationships.  So in my books...he's alright...maybe even a little more than alright.

Now that you're all sick and gagging...that's the best I've got...I'll provide an either incredibly great update or sad update about my future in the next day or so.

So I update this in hopes that I won't jinx myself.  I have a dream job interview on Thurs...at least it's a dream until I findout more details..we'll see.  Everyone keep your fingers crossed and hope I get a jobbie!  Even though I technically have one...this one will actually use my degree though.

So I ended my last entry as "here's to a new beginning."  Well I just finished the first full week of my new beginning and I'm beginning to wish for the old.  I earned several bruises from my kids.  Broke up many fights.  And taught little to nothing in week one.  It left me ready to sleep this weekend, which is what I did...slept. 

In other news Katie came Friday night and that was loads of fun as always.  Next weekend if it doesn't rain, my daddy and I are going fishing.  And the weekend after, Kevin's daddy, Kevin and I are going fishing.  Fishing twice in a month...3 times in a summer...that's amazement right there...and that is why I'm dating Kevin...well there may be a few other reasons...but he takes me fishing...is one of the better.
